Drinking games, the foundation for all solid relationships.

Naturally we all started out playing the traditional games like Asshole (particularly appropriate for us), Buzz, Jet, three man (we play a tougher variation than most, see below), darts and foosball, but a big favorite right now is Thed (aka Beirut aka beer pong without paddles)

There are so many great drinking games I won't even try to lost them all.  There are enough good sites out there for that.

Thed-  I am not sure why we call this game Thed.  Beer pong always seemed to be the game that you play with paddles, so that is out.  I really think that Beirut is more commonly used, but that doesn't change the fact that we call it Thed.

Rules

Set Up

1)      Start with six cups on each side in a pyramid

2)      There are two ways to fill the cups (Challengers always fill the cups):

a)      TWO BEER: Fill all of the cups evenly or not really doesn’t matter

b)      THREE BEER: The first cup gets a full beer.  Pour two beers evenly among the remaining cups

*The Winning team chooses the style of play.  If it is the first game and there is a dispute, a three beer game will be played and the two beer team will be punched in the face.

3)      The team that won the previous game shoots first

4)      Both direct shots and bounce shots are allowed.  The ball may bounce as many times are necessary to reach the cups

5)      If the ball travels outside the playing area and bounces back into one of the cups that are in play the shot counts.  Once the ball leaves the playing area it may be caught or stopped from reentering the playing area

6)      Teams may have as many players as is agreed upon by both teams, winning teams choice

7)      Every player shoots each round

8)      If all players on a team make their shots the balls are returned and they each shoot again

Arranging the Cups

9)      If a player makes a shot the opposing team must drink the beer and remove the cup

10)  Cups are rearranged into a pyramid after three cups are removed

11)  When there are two cups remaining they are placed one in front of the other perpendicular to the players

12)  When cups are arranged they mush be touching

Penalties

13)  If a player knocks over any of the cups on their side of the table the cups are removed from the table – Quarter beer chug

14)  If a ball lands in a cup outside the game, the table is divided in two equal halves and the beer must be consumed by the team that controls that side of the table.  This may not be a direct shot (Ex. The ball must bounce off another object prior to landing in the side cup.

15)  If a player makes a direct shot into a cup that is not part of the game that player will drink the beer no matter what side of the table it is on

16)  If a player accidentally drops the ball into their cup, the player drinks the cup and removes it from the table.  The player shoots again

Winning the Game

17)  When all of the cups on either team are removed the other team gets a final chance to tie the game.  If they make all of their shots they get to shoot again.  If they manage to make all of the cups there will be a shoot off with one cup on each side.  Each player gets a chance during the shoot off.  If more than one player makes it the other team must match the amount of balls that were sunk or they loose.

18)  The losing team will drink all of the remaining cups for both teams

 Asshole-  This classic game is great for anyone that likes to mix their drinking games with nudity, hitting on girls, forcing your friends to do anything that you ask, and a hierarchy that will give powers to some over others. 

I generally don't like to play this game anymore.  I have made all of my friends streak, eat raw meat out of the refrigerator, chug, stand on one foot, give props the president, and just about anything else you can think of. , but that isn't why I don't like to play it anymore.  As with most games we take it to the extreme and when we play with new people they are appalled by our request and they bow out early.  It's just not fun if you aren't pushing the action, there are plenty of other fun games that concentrate more on drinking and having fun.  If you need a set of rules for this game you can find it here.  Asshole Rules

Three Man Under Construction
